    I Need You To Survive

Song by Hezekiah Walker and The Love Fellowship Choir ‧ 2002

I need you, you need me
    We’re all a part of God’s body
Stand with me, agree with me
    We’re all a part of God’s body
It is His will that every need be supplied
You are important to me, I need you to survive
You are important to me, I need you to survive

Everybody look at somebody and tell them I need you

I need you (you need me), you need me
    (We’re all a part) We’re all a part of God’s body
(Stand with me) Stand with me (look at somebody, tell them agree with me)
    Agree with me
    (We’re all a part) We’re all a part of God’s body
(It is His will) It is His will that every need be supplied
You are important to me, I need you to survive (tell your neighbor)
You are important to me, I need you to survive

    This is beautiful, New York
Let’s do it one more time, come on, open your mouth and say I need you

I need you (let me hear you, you need me), you need me
(For we’re all) We’re all a part of God’s body
(Stand with me) Stand with me
(Agree with me) Agree with me
    We’re all a part of God’s body
(It is His will) It is His will that every need be supplied
(You are important to me) You are important to me
(Yes, you are) I need you to survive
(You are important to me) You are important to me
(I need you to survive) I need you to survive

    I pray for you
(Pray for me) You pray for me
(I love you) I love you
(I need you to survive) I need you to survive
I won’t harm you with words from my mouth
    I love you
I need you to survive (yes sir)

    I pray for you
    You pray for me
I love you (come on, y’all)
    I need you to survive
(Hold somebody hand and tell them, come on)
I won’t harm you with words from my mouth
    I love you
    I need you to survive

    I pray for you
(You pray for me) You pray for me
    I love you
    I need you to survive
    (I won’t harm you) I won’t harm you
(With words from my mouth) With words from my mouth
(I love you) I love you
(I need you to survive) I need you to survive

    I pray for you
(Come on, you pray for me) You pray for me
(I love you) I love you
(I need you to survive) I need you to survive
(Point at somebody and tell ’em I won’t harm you) I won’t harm you
(Come on, y’all) With words from my mouth
(I love you) I love you
(Need you to survive) I need you to survive (let’s take it up, everybody)

    I pray for you
(You pray for me) You pray for me
(I love you) I love you
    I need you to survive
I won’t harm you with words from my mouth
(I love you) I love you
(Let’s take it up one more time) I need you to survive
(Come on, get up, get up on your feet and say it, come on, I’ll pray for you)

    I pray for you
(Look at somebody and tell ’em) You pray for me
    I love you
    I need you to survive
    (I won’t harm you) I won’t harm you
(With words from my mouth) With words from my mouth
(I need you) I love you
(I need you) I need you to survive
(Let’s do it without no music, I wanna hear the word come out)

I pray for you (y’all appreciate it)
    You pray for me
(I love you) I love you
(Tell somebody) I need you to survive
    (I won’t harm you) I won’t harm you
(With words from my mouth) With words from my mouth
    I love you
    I need you to survive

    I pray for you
(You pray for me) You pray for me
    I love you
    I need you to survive
I won’t harm you with words from my mouth
(I love you) I love you
I need you to survive (it is His will)

It is His will that every need be supplied
(You are important) You are important to me
    I need you to survive

Yeah, y’all clap your hands, everybody
    Let’s lift our hands

  • Humanity

    Across cultures. Across time.

Published in 1961 and still deeply resonant today, ‘The Golden Rule’ reflects Norman Rockwell’s belief in the profound impact of everyday kindness to connect us all. At its heart is a hopeful vision: a world guided by compassion, respect, and care for one another—values rooted in our shared humanity.

Rockwell felt it was his duty to reflect the times in which he lived, reminding us through the generations that hope is not abstract, but something practiced daily, person to person.

“Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”

  • Waiting

Luke tells us that Simeon and Anna had waited a long time for God’s promise to be fulfilled. When the moment comes, they recognize it—not because it is grand, but because they have learned how to watch.

Their witness reminds us that faith is not passive waiting, but attentive hope—rooted in prayer, patience, and trust.

May we become people who recognize God’s work unfolding before us, even when it arrives quietly.

  • Street Art

A gift of getting out on foot and wandering with no specific destination allows for some magnificent finds. Street art has always grabbed my imagination. The who – the why – the what. Without the directed answers, our minds are freed for imagination. What do you see? What story can we tell?

  • Father/Son

A late night walk in downtown Seattle. Adventure is always right outside our closed doors. Tonight’s finds included mummies – the best chocolate chip cookies – and the wonder of the city and its people. Love you son!

  • Star Bright

THOSE STARS THAT TURN IN US

    I do not know
how to keep it all together
    or by what patterns
    this world might
    finally hold.

    What I know is
    our hearts are bigger
    than this sky
    that wheels above us

    and what shines
    through all this darkness
    shines through us,
    setting every shattered thing
    into a new constellation,

    and we can turn
    our faces
    to that light,
    to the grace of
    those stars
    that turn in us.

  • Semester Ends

Ah the relief of a school semester ending. The shoulders were more relaxed, the smiles a little brighter, and the play a little more easy to come by. All 5 knocked the semester out of the park with hard work and good grades. Proud of this team. To celebrate we drove out to the big waves and walked along the roaring ocean. Westport is one of our go to places and it never disappoints. We get the reward no matter the weather with fish and chips at one of the best places on the planet. Ling cod for the win along with chowder poutine.

Love you kids! These are the days that will be treasured forever. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

  • Surprise

Grocery Outlet is my quick go to on the way home after a long day. A few rice puddings and some other random deeply discounted items in hand and I am in and out in a few minutes for ten bucks or less. Unless there are colorful flowers to slow me down. Tonight these grabbed my attention and my pace slowed and a smile broke out on my face. Little signs and symbols of joy along the path. I needed those flowers tonight more than those flowers needed me. Thanks be to God.

  • Strength

    “Stay Strong” by David Gate

    They say to “stay strong”

    in the throng of disaster

so I let my body unravel

all its secrets of magic & memory

so that joy & sorrow & terror

    & love bleed like watercolors

    together at the edges

    of their vivid hues

    falling into serendipity

because to feel it all is to surrender

& not all surrender is loss

so I let everything live within me

    like the galaxy I am

    because I cannot imagine

anything stronger than the courage to live

    like we are fully alive.
