Day 62 (13) – Gijon

Today we enjoyed the day in Gijon. With 5,000 years of history walking through its streets feels like traveling back in time. It is a day to rest and refresh and play.

We feasted on cachopo – a most famous Spanish meal of two beef filets surrounded by Serrano ham and cheese – breaded and then fried – the taste buds rejoice!

We played in the sun on the Bay of Biscay on a jet ski.

Enjoyed a weekend festival with street actors and other odd ball stuff.

Watched a military aircraft display on the beach that blew our ears away while surfers danced with the waves.

Tasted cider and frixuelos.

Cleaned up laundry and prepared for the next 12 days of forward movement.

People watched and art finds.

A Saturday of simple enjoyment.
